PRESS STATEMENT
ALLIED COORDINATING COMMITTEE OF ISLAMIC NGOS IN MALAYSIA (ACCIN)
14 February 2015 / 24 Rabiulakhir 1436H
ACCIN, acting as the umbrella organization for the alliance of Islamic NGOs in Malaysia fully supports the statement made by the Islamic Information & Service Foundation (IIS) pertaining to the issue of sharing the translated version of Quran to the non-Muslim.
The main objective of “One Soul One Quran” project as it has been well-explained is to minimize misconception towards Islam; especially among the non-Muslims of which this misconception usually leads to Islamophobia. As an Islamic NGO, it is part of our responsibility to spread and convey the true message of Islam, namely the Al-Quran. Al-Quran was not meant for the Muslim only, but for the whole human race. Most importantly, it is not part of Islam to force any human being to be a Muslim but merely spreading the merciful message of Islam. This is well-explained in the Quran “There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion…”(Al-Baqarah; 256).
ACCIN highly hopes Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) to use the Jawatankuasa Mempromosikan Persefahaman dan Keharmonian di Antara Penganut Agama (JKMPKA) to further discuss and express any dissatisfaction towards issues as such. It would have been more advisable to use the platform provided by JKMPKA, through the use of a round table consultation among the committee than disregarding other members in the committee when they decided to meet with the media on their own. This hinders the effort in promoting harmony and unity in Malaysia.

KENYATAAN MEDIA
ALLIED COORDINATING COMMITTEE OF ISLAMIC NGOS IN MALAYSIA (ACCIN)
14 Februari 2015 bersamaan 24 Rabiulakhir 1436H
